Snooze at the ZooFridays and Saturdays, April 28, 29 and May 5, 6, 12, 13, 20, 26, 27. Spending the night at the zoo is a wild good time for families, groups and schools. During the overnight adventure, guests make enrichment for the animals, tour the zoo, meet animals up close and enjoy delicious meals. Each Snooze lasts from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. the next day. Louie the African Elephant’s 14th Birthday CelebrationSaturday, April 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Don’t miss all the pachyderm party fun, including a hefty yet healthy birthday treat and enrichment presents for the teenager. More information is available at

Kids’ Night OutFriday, May 5 at 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Parents, enjoy a night off while zoo staff watches the kids. Drop off children ages 5-12. While at the zoo, kids will enjoy games, crafts and the chance to meet a live zoo animal. Pizza will also be provided. Cinco de Mayo CelebrationSunday, May 7. Be transported south of the border to celebrate Mexico’s rich heritage with music, dance, crafts and more. This event is free with zoo admission. For the full schedule of activities, visit

Mother’s Day Celebration and BrunchSunday, May 14. Moms receive free zoo admission when they are accompanied by at least one child. Spend the day celebrating Mom and enjoying a whole zoo’s worth of fun. Be sure to visit and celebrate with animal moms: Yaz the orangutan and Renee the African elephant. As an optional extra, the zoo offers a full-service Mother’s Day brunch in the historic Lodge. Medical Mutual Dart Frog DashSaturday, May 20. The 5K race/walk, open to all ages, begins at 8:30 a.m. with the Kids’ Fun Run, open to children ages 0-12, at 9:45 a.m. Both race routes begin and end on the historic side of the zoo. Summer Season OpeningSaturday, May 27. The summer fun officially begins at the Toledo Zoo. Zip into summer by spending the long holiday weekend enjoying all the wild fun of the zoo, including the Aquarium Adventure Trail playground and splash pad, animal demonstrations and feedings, live animal shows and fun activities for the whole family.
