OBITUARIES

Shirley Huddleston
Shirley M. Huddleston, age 73, of Maumee, passed away on Saturday, July 31. Born in Hollansburg, Ohio, on June 26, 1937 to Willard and Twyla (Starkes) Bunger, she was a former member of the Church of Latter Day Saints and a full-time mom to everybody.
Surviving are her husband, Norman; sons, Daniel (Wyvona) and Steven Huddleston; grandchildren, Shaun Huddleston and Megan Newsome; great-grandsons, Malcolm and Elias Newsome; and brother, James Bunger.
A private family burial service will take place in Richmond, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to a children’s charity of the donor’s choice.

David Kemmerley
David H. Kemmerley, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, August 4.
Born in Toledo on June 4, 1941, to Harold and Evelyn (Bordner) Kemmerley, he graduated in 1959 from Libbey High School, where he excelled in basketball, receiving all-city and MVP honors. He played for many teams and leagues for years after high school. Mr. Kemmerley served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked for Kaiser Jeep as a supervisor in the 1960s. In the 70s, he went to work for Roadway Express, retiring in 1985. He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He married the love of his life, Beverly Baker, in 1964. They moved to Lauderdale-By-The- Sea, Fla., in 1985, and he dearly loved his friends there and in Ft. Meyers. They moved back to Maumee after 20 great years but still spent winters in Florida.
Mr. Kemmerley was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice Lewandowski; and brother, Ronald. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Beverly; sister, Diane; brothers-in-law, Ray Lewandowski and Robert (Jean) Baker; sister-in-law, Valerie (Lester) Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends were received on August 8 at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, where funeral services took place on August 9, followed by interment in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial tributes may be directed to the Toledo Humane Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Rose Wylie
Rose Mary (Anderson) Wylie, age 73, of Holland, passed away on Friday, August 6.
Born in Holland on August 30, 1936, to Louis and Irene (Karpinski) Anderson, she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine Church. Mrs. Wylie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her loving husband, Richard; children, Joseph (Terri), Beth, Tom (Lisa), Rich and Rosemary Wylie; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Anderson, Joanne (Mike) Litwin, Carolyn Krispin and Helen (Gary) Stanton; brothers, Tom, Louis (Betty), John (Leola), Donald and Richard (Sharon) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Gabriella; and brother, James.
Friends and family were received on August 8 in the Neville Funeral Home in Holland, where funeral services began with prayers on August 9, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine Church. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Frederick Gerken
Frederick H. Gerken, age 97, of Perrysburg, died on Friday, August 6.
Born in Napoleon on April 18, 1913, to Frank and Katherine (Damman) Gerken, he owned and operated the former Perrysburg Paint and Wallpaper for 35 years, retiring in 1989. His memberships included Bethel Assembly of God in Perrysburg, Perrysburg Public Affairs, Perrysburg Zoning Commission, Perrysburg City Council, Democratic Central Committee and the Perrysburg Democratic Club.
Mr. Gerken is survived by his children, Fred (Sandra) Gerken, of New Port Richey, Fla., Phillip Gerken, of Whitehouse, and Christine Gerken, of Bowling Green; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Martin (Beverly) and Henry (Joann) Gerken; sisters, Marie Bahler, Dorothy Drewes and Katherine Alexander; sisters-in-law, Lois Gerken and Evelyn Brandeberry; and special friend, Kate Graber. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen Gerken; brother, Frank; and sister, Sadonna Williams.
Funeral services took place on August 11 at Calvary Assembly of God, followed by interment in Ft. Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.

Wanda Glinka
Wanda R. Glinka, age 94, died on Friday, August 6, at the Maumee home of her son, Michael Glinka. A lifelong resident of Toledo, she was born on November 15, 1915, married John Glinka and was a devoted and loving wife and mother to their three children.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte (Clifford) Scheidler, of Elyria; sons, Dr. Michael (Donna) Glinka, of Maumee, and Drs. Jerome (Kathleen) Glinka, of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Wicichowski; brothers, Chester (Betty) and Edward (Mary); and nephew, Gary Gliszcynski. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, John Glinka; parents, Joseph and Mary Wicichowski; sister, Virginia Gliszcynski; brothers, Joseph and Frank; and granddaughter, Christine Scheidler.
The family received friends on August 8 in the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on August 9 in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Larry Mayhugh
Larry Allen Mayhugh, age 67, of Maumee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 7.
Born in Toledo to Roual and Isabelle (Smart) Mayhugh in November 1942, he was a graduate of Burnham High School. He retired from Chevy Hydromatic after 32 years of service as a millwright. He met and married the love of his life, Joan Stevens, in March 1963, and they celebrated their 47th anniversary just this year. Mr. Mayhugh enjoyed many hobbies and liked to live life in the fast lane. He loved drag car racing at Milan and Norwalk Speedway. He was truly in his element in a fast car or on a motorcycle. He loved an intellectual challenge as well, conquering crossword puzzles at his leisure. He showed a sense of pride in all that he did in life. The true love of his life was family – his wife, children and grandchildren. He embraced life to the fullest and made quality time with them a priority.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Joan; children, Brent (Chris) Mayhugh, Penni (Pete) Samberg and Kelly (Tina) Mayhugh; grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Peter, Chris, Taylor, Alexandrea and Lauren; and sisters, Colleen (Paul) Wagner and Janet Love. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends were received on August 10 at Reeb Funeral Home, where the funeral took place on August 11. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

David Ignasiak
David R. Ignasiak, age 61, of Swanton, passed away on Sunday, August 8.
Born in Monclova on May 8, 1949, to Emil and Noreen Ignasiak, he was a 1966 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School. After high school, he began work as a contractor and remodeler in home building. Mr. Ignasiak was a huge NASCAR fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Jr. He was in his true element four wheeling at Silver Lake with family and friends or enjoying a walk around a classic car show.
He is survived by his sons, Lucas and Joshua Ignasiak; brothers, Nick (Bonnie) Ignasiak and Tim (Andrea) Ignasiak; nieces, Jessi Royer and Christie (Chris) Ignasiak; nephews; Derrick (Jennifer) Ignasiak, Shane, Justin and Lacey Haas and Bradley (Stacey) and Jason Segman; stepfather, Robert Dennis; and numerous other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Tim Ignasiak, Jr.
Friends were received on August 11 at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania, where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 12. Contributions to the family would be appreciated.
