Nancy Noble
Nancy Lee Noble, age 77, of Toledo and formerly of Maumee, passed away on Monday, May 19.
Born in Toledo on February 7, 1931, to Frank and Vera (Harned) Rogers, she was a licensed practical nurse who retired from Spring Meadows Extended Care Center. She enjoyed collecting books, especially cookbooks, and loved animals.
Mrs. Noble is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Matthew) Drahan; son, Michael (Susan) Noble; grandchildren, Carrie (Kenneth) Miller, Marcie and MacKenzie Drahan, Melissa (Jim) Hoover, Jennifer (Eric) Mossbarger, Roberta Hogan and Alexandra (Bob) Miller; and brother, Charles (Billie) Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Linda Noble.
Friends and family were received on May 22 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home in Maumee, where funeral services took place on May 23. Interment was in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Northwest of Ohio.
Eugene Molenaur
Eugene H. Molenaur, Sr., age 80, of Perrysburg, died on Tuesday, May 20.
Born in Akron on August 8, 1927, to Logan and Orsella (Smith) Molenaur, he married Mary Houseman in Akron on October 3, 1948; she preceded him in death in 1997. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served as a radarman aboard the USS Oregon City from 1944-46. He graduated from Kent State University in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and also did graduate work at both the University of Southern California and the University of Michigan.
Mr. Molenaur worked for 23 years as an area director for AARP at the Chicago office, serving the states of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin, retiring in 1990. He also served as executive director of the Senior Citizens Program in Canton from 1961-67 and for 10 years with the Boy Scouts of America as district executive, camp director and director of public relations in Toledo and Lisbon, Ohio. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waterville, serving as an elder and a member of the building/grounds committee. His other memberships include the Kiwanis Club, the Gerontology Society, National Council on Aging, Aging Society, Boy Scouts of America, Topical Stamp Society, Scouts of Stamp Society, Alpha Phi Omega, Order of the Arrow and the Sherlock Holmes Society. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood crafting, stamp collecting, golf, walking, collecting John Wayne and Sherlock Holmes videos and attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
He is survived by his children, Cathy (Bill) Hesselbein, of Whitehouse, Eugene (Karen) Molenaur, Jr., of Holland, Susan (Kim) Markovich, of McHenry, Ill., and Chris (Cathy) Molenaur, of Wauconda, Ill.; twin brother, Donald; grandchildren, Bill III, Jeremy, Justin and Jennifer; and great-grandson, Wesson Hesselbein.
Services were private and there was no visitation. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Wood County Humane Society, 801 Van Camp Rd., Bowling Green, OH 43402 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
Kenneth Rejent
Kenneth Rejent, age 66, of Maumee, passed away on Tuesday, May 20.
Born in Toledo on November 14, 1941, to Edwin and Genevieve (Kilisz) Rejent, he was a bailiff for the city of Toledo for 36 years, retiring in 1999. An avid golfer, he was a member of Highland Meadows Country Club. A loving husband, father and “papa,” he will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Rejent is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra; son, Dennis (Gina) Rejent; daughter, Debra (Martin) Modrowski; and grandchildren, Crosby and Taylor Modrowski and Kassidy and Kendall Rejent.
Friends and family were received on May 22 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home in Maumee, where funeral services began on May 23 and were followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Church in Maumee. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest of Ohio or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family would like to thank Dr. Donald Vogel and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their wonderful care.
Glennah Edwards
Glennah M. Edwards, age 89, of Maumee and formerly of Rossford, passed away on Thursday, May 22.
Born in Whitehouse on April 6, 1919, to George and Flossie (Gruber) Edwards, she was a 1937 graduate of Rossford High School. She was employed as a secretary for Gulf Oil for her entire working career. She enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her brother, Burt Edwards; sisters, Hazel Edwards, Helen (James) Phillips and Dorothy (Thomas) Stock; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Edwards; and sisters, Lodema Edwards and Velma Luebcke.
Family and friends were received on May 27 at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home in Maumee, where funeral services took place on May 28. Interment followed in Swanton Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Neil Mills
Neil E. “Coach” Mills, age 79, of Maumee, passed away on Friday, May 23.
Born on June 18, 1928, in Russell, Ky., to Emmett and Nannie (Collins) Mills, he was a graduate of Walbridge High School and served in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II. Mr. Mills was a site manger for Babcock and Wilcox for 23 years. An avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, belonging to the Browns Backers’ Club for many years, as well as the Indians and Cavaliers, he was also an Ohio State fan. A member of the American Legion Post 320, his hobbies included going to casinos and cutting grass on his Cleveland Browns custom riding lawnmower. Mr. Mills also showed his artistic side by collecting and painting rocks, each with a humorous “Neil-like” saying.
Surviving are his wife, Winnie Mills; sons, Kevin (Shelly) and Sam (Brenda) Mills; daughter, Teri (Denise) Mills; stepsons, Timothy (Laurie) and Toby Feltus; stepdaughter, Traci (Alan) Bialy; grandchildren, Chris and Matthew Mills; step-grandchildren, Lauren and Brandon Bialy, Chris and Jonathan Feltus, Abby Feltus, Echo (Tom) Hogdgen, Tyler Harris and Josh and Jessica Rubacz; great-grandchildren, Brayden Mills and Coral Sky Hogdgen; and sister, Lois Grzechowiak. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Mills; brothers, Earl and Robert Mills; and sister, Juanita (Harris) Sherman.
Friends and family were received on May 27 at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on May 28 in the Church of St Andrew United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Lake Township Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
Ruth Rowe
Ruth B. Rowe, age 87, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, May 23.
She worked for Lamson’s Department Store at The Colony in Toledo for almost 10 years. An avid golfer, she was proud to have accomplished three holes-in-one. She and her husband of 65 years, Elman, wintered together in Florida and both enjoyed golfing and frequenting flea markets. Once he fell ill, Mrs. Rowe became his devoted caretaker until he passed away last year.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janet (David Drake) Kania, of Maumee, and Sue (Butch) Davis, of Mancelona, Mich.; grandchildren, Robert (Tracie) Kania, Suzanne (Bill) Rabold, Shelly (Mic) Donahue and Mike Davis; great-grandchildren, Anna and Ben Rabold, Ian, Cameron and Kylee Donahue and Derrick and Meagan Davis; and sister, Dorothy (Don) Schenck. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Scott Davis, and sister, Cece Early.
Friends were received on May 26 at the Reeb Funeral Home. The funeral Mass was celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church on May 27, followed by interment in Toledo Memorial Park. Eloise Wagoner
Eloise R. Wagoner, age 90, of Perrysburg, passed away on Friday, May 23.
Born in Defiance on April 17, 1918, to George and Mary (Rauth) Bohner, she married Harland Wagoner on November 20, 1937, in Pemberville. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1990. She retired after 14 years as a cafeteria manager from Lake Local School in 1980. She was a member of Stony Ridge United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher and was very active in many women’s groups.
Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Goodman and Mary (James) Sherman, both of Perrysburg; sons, Marvin (Paula) Wagoner, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Robert Wagoner, of Perrysburg, and William (Marilyn) Wagoner, of Maumee; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Graf; and brother-in-law, Marion (Ruth) Wagoner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harland; five brothers; and one sister.
Family and friends were received on May 27 at the Marsh Funeral Home in Luckey. Funeral services took place on May 28 at Stony Ridge United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Melissa Steinecker. Interment was in Troy Township Cemetery in Luckey. Memorial contributions may be given to the church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Alzheimer’s Association.
James Tilton
James Calvin Tilton, age 72, of Swanton, died on Saturday, May 24.
Born on November 28, 1935, in his grandparents’ log cabin in Whitehouse, to Calvin and Delberta (Decker) Tilton, he served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves from 1958-1965. Mr. Tilton worked as a farmer and also as mechanic for Anthony Wayne Local Schools, retiring after 31 years. He subsequently worked for J & G Industries, retiring after 18 years. He attended Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in addition to collecting toy tractors, going to his cabin and fishing. He was known for his strong work ethic and great sense of humor.
Mr. Tilton married Dewila “Jean” Yoder on July 10, 1982, in Whitehouse. She survives, along with children, James (Jan) and Jeff Tilton, both of Toledo, Roger (Jennifer) Bates, of Denver, Gary (Lois) Bates, of Niles, Mich., and Luann Richard, of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Linda) and John (Meredith) Tilton; and sister, Lecreta (Calvin) Lowe. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Michelle Williams.
Friends and family were received on May 27 at Peinert Funeral Home in Whitehouse. Funeral services took place on May 28 at Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon, followed by interment in Wauseon Union Cemetery. The family expresses their deepest appreciation to family, friends and ProMedica Hospice. They suggest memorial contributions to ProMedica Hospice or Crossroads Evangelical Church.
