WHAT'S NEW AT THE ZOO
Visit the Toledo Zoo’s Web site, www.toledozoo.org, or call (419) 385-4040 for more information about these and other upcoming events.
The Toledo Zoo is recruiting adult volunteers for our next class of Zoo Educators. Classes will begin in mid-September and feature a weekday and weekend training series. The flexible training program consists of an orientation, followed by a series of eight classes that cover exhibits throughout the Zoo, as well as educational techniques.
Zoo Educators provide educational programs on and off Toledo Zoo grounds, from structured classroom programs to natural feed and enrichment interpretive talks. In addition, Zoo Educators may handle small live animals and animal biofacts to teach people about the importance of conservation through spontaneous interactions with Zoo visitors.
The Zoo Educator program is a great way for people 18 and over to get involved in their community, meet new people and learn about animals and conservation. For more information about becoming a Zoo Educator or learning about other volunteer programs, contact Bill Davis, the Zoo’s volunteer coordinator, at (419) 385-5721 or bill.davis@toledozoo.org, or via the Zoo’s website at www.toledozoo.org/volunteers.
