Storytelling in Miniature, Works on Paper Galleries – through March 4, 2012 – Approximately 140 miniature engravings and prints from the Renaissance through the modern and contemporary eras from the Toledo Museum of Art collection are featured. Several 16th-century printmakers specialized in producing very small engravings – so small, in fact, that a magnifying glass is required to appreciate them fully. Admission is free. A companion digital catalog will be available free online during the exhibition.

European Expressionist and Cubist Works on Paper,  through March 11, Gallery 18 – Drawn from the TMA collection, this exhibition features prints, illustrated books and drawings from France and Germany in the first decades of the 20th century and includes work by Picasso, Matisse, Kollwitz, Kirchner, Kandinsky and others who emerged or came to maturity during this time. Art history students at the University of Toledo organized this free exhibition.

Small Worlds, Canaday Gallery through March 2 –Five contemporary artists offer more than 40 works of art on a small scale including relief paintings, sculptures and drawings as well as video and art installations and a fully functional 65-square-foot house. Some works were created specifically for the show and incorporate facets of the museum and its environs.

Quest for Fire Studios, Community Gallerythrough March 22 – The artists of Quest for Fire Studios, inspired by the Small Worlds exhibition, create works related to scale and perception based on their own unique worlds. Viewers will feel both large and small in relation to these objects in a variety of media. Some artists will show other work as well. Free admission.
