Lights Before Christmas Celebration Continues
The annual Lights Before Christmas display at the Toledo Zoo continues through Saturday, December 31. The event features more than 1 million lights, strolling carolers, hot chocolate and other treats, and visits with Santa through Friday, December 23.
Every Thursday night, the zoo also offers ice carving demonstrations, local radio station broadcasts and free 3-D glasses giveaways.
Admission hours are 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday (the zoo closes at 9:00 p.m.) and 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday (the zoo closes at 10:00 p.m.) Admission is $11.00 for adults, $8.00 for children 2-11 and seniors 60 and older, and free for children under age 2. Bittersweet Holiday Shop Offers Handcrafted Gifts
The holiday shop at Bittersweet Farms will be open through Thursday, December 22. Handcrafted items made by residents and day participants of Bittersweet will be available for purchase at the farmstead community in Whitehouse.
Prices range from $5.00 to $50.00. Items include original artwork, note cards, pottery and ceramics, handwoven items, gourmet dog treats, bird houses, T-shirts and baked goods.
