Yark Chevrolet In Whitehouse To Be The Area’s Chevy Volt Dealer
BY KAREN BERGER — MIRROR REPORTER
As Chevrolet prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary, Yark Chevrolet in Whitehouse will welcome the 2012 Chevy Volt electric car.
“We’ll be the Northwest Ohio dealer for the Volt,” explained sales manager Heath Glowacki, who leads the Whitehouse dealership.
With a long-life battery, the Volt provides a total range of 379 miles. It can be charged with a standard household 120-volt outlet or 240-volt charging station.
Some of the electric vehicle’s features include:
• A battery designed, engineered, tested and validated to deliver a long life, with a total range of 379 miles.
• A limited warranty of eight years and 100,000 miles on the battery and electric drive components.
• 35 miles of gas and tailpipe emissions-free driving.
• A high-tech and interactive interior.
• Acceleration from 0-60 in less than nine seconds and speeds up to 100 mph.
• A smooth, quiet ride.
• Standard and available technology such as the Bose energy-efficient premium speaker system and Bluetooth for phone.
• MyVolt.com, an owner website that allows owners to communicate with the vehicle to start charging, pre-condition the interior, lock and unlock the doors, and program the vehicle charging schedule. The driver can also check the charging status, EV range and other pertinent vehicle information.
• Apps to help drivers stay connected to their Volt via iPhone, iPad and Android smart phones and tablets.
The Volt will arrive at Yark in September, allowing shoppers to experience the vehicle firsthand before ordering.
Yark will also host a Centennial Chevrolet Celebration this fall.
With students returning to classrooms, soccer fields and football stadiums, Yark again is kicking off its giving to Anthony Wayne-area programs, Glowacki said.
“We want to be very involved with schools and businesses locally,” he said.
Earlier this year, Yark teamed up with the Anthony Wayne Youth Foundation to support youth soccer, baseball and softball, donating equipment and proceeds from raffle tickets for new Chevrolets.
Yark “White Out” T-shirts are ordered, and Glowacki and Jason Lannen plan on heading out to football games and soccer games to pass out 1,500 shirts.
“We like going to the games and being involved in the community. We have a blast out there,” Glowacki said.
Yark is located at 9830 Waterville-Swanton Rd. (SR 64) in Whitehouse. For information, call (419) 878-5147 or visit www.yarkauto.com.
