Woodland Workshop To Be Held In Swanton
The Northwest Ohio Woodland Workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Swanton Community Center, 217 Chestnut St., Swanton.
This workshop is for woodland owners who want to explore a broad range of topics that concern the woodland they own.
Attendees will learn about the importance of tree diversity, test tree ID skills and learn about the good and the bad when it comes to wildlife. Sessions will be indoors and outside with hands-on activities for some topics.

S.A.V.E. Announces Tuesday Lecture Series
The Science Alliance for Valuing the Environment Inc. (S.A.V.E.) is offering the following lectures at the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University, 6832 Convent Blvd., in Sylvania. The lectures are offered on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. and are free and open to the public:
March 14, 2017 – “Tween Scylla and Charybdis: Negotiating the Stormy Waters of Climate Change” with the Hon. George Heartwell, former mayor of Grand Rapids, Mich. Heartwell is currently the community sustainability coordinator of Grand Valley State University.
April 25, 2017 – “The Built Environment and Health: What’s the Big Deal?” with Bethany Deakins, coordinator of Live Well Greater Toledo.
